i suppose every1 has this problem at one stage or another but its really getting me down..
basically i dont want to seem like a child but it all started last summer abouts.. when went to the gaeltacht (childish i know(
but i made some of the most wonderful friends and still keep in contact with them, had a magnificent time..best days of my life by far..but ever since i left school this year iv tried to reinact the past with these specific people living in lets just say X and i live 50 miles away from them in Y.
Its a real downer as i still keep in contact with these people and are my good friends but with the distance thing its hinging on my life at home..moping around i hardly ever see my friends here at home kinda distanced myself only thinking about the people i met in gaeltacht!
i never really had good friends and i suppose they fill the gap!
i dont really have anyone to talk to as parents dont really understand!
please no smart comments. just want to get back to normal
    thanking you

maybe you should socialise with a new group of ppl this summer along with a couple of your friends at home? connect with your friends friends? are you in secondary school then? i know alot of secondary students feel out of sorts when the summer comes because they dont see their friends as much

Perhaps you should try to reconnect with your friends at home. If they are truly your friends that shouldn't be difficult. And maybe through them you will be able to make new friends as well.

Don't worry too much about this. You are young and we all go through similar experiences at that age. Try to get and socialize a bit. Have some fun!

I went to the Gaeltacht 3 years in a row, I know what you mean I absolutly LOVED every minute of it! I was forced to go the first year and after that I was begging my parents to go back.

So many happy memories, the first girl I ever loved I meet at the gaeltacht  Stayed going out with her for 5 months after I got back, she lived in Dublin, I lived in Galway the commutes nearly killed me. Ended in tears though.......:(

Back to you though before I get banned for going completly off topic! ;)

Try and organise a reunion, summer is the perfect time for it, meet up St. Stephens green some Saturday, it will be good for everyone.

You kinda have to let it go though, you can maintain friendship with them but its not good to hang on it. Things will never go back to what they were, you cant re-inact (Sp?) the past. I know its a bummer and all, but you simply have to move on.

You could of course go back and be a teacher in the gaeltacht, thats meant to be great fun aswell!
