    Hi,
    Sry if this has been asked before but I'm in a hurry and don't have the time to go through the pages of threads here.

    I need to buy an MP3 player for a birthday present quick. Don't have the time to order online so I need to buy in-store. I'm in Cork, where do I go. At the moment my options for MP3 player are Creative Vision M, Iriver H10, Ipod Nano & the Zen Micro. I know the O2 store on Patrick street do Ipods so that's grand but for the rest of them (Creatives and IRiver) where do I go. I guess Argos could have something but they may have to order it in which could take days. Please help.

    Btw, I have the option of getting a friend in Dublin to buy it for me but I'd need to be specific with where and what price. If anyone knows where to buy one of the above mentioned players in Dublin and at what price (+ what colours available if possible) I'd be very gratefull.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bacchus

    As you're in Cork, I'd suggest checking out Harvey Norman (on the Kinsale Road). They should have a wide range of players in store.

    Bloody hell! I always knew shopping in Ireland was bad but I never realised it was this bad. Aside from that great deal on the Zen Sleek in Argos(which is sold out in Cork) it's sooooo expensive.

    Best I could find for Vision M was €331 in Argos, €359 in Harvey Normans.
    The IRiver H10 6Gb is €281 in Argos and €261 in the O2 store on Patrick St.
    The Zen Micro is €237 in Harvey Normans.
    The Ipod Nano 4Gb is €271 in Argos and €259 in Harvey Normans.

    The best deals are in Peats as far as I can tell
    Vision M -> €319
    IRiver H10 6Gb & 20Gb -> both €269
    Zen Sleek Photo -> €199

    Guess I'll get someone to buy for me in Peats in Dublin. Btw, what is the difference between the 6Gb and the 20Gb models of the H10 that they are the same price? Is the 6Gb model smaller in dimensions or does it have some extra feature?

    I can't answer your question on the iRiver H10 6GB and 20GB but I have the 20GB version and am extremly happy with it. It's pretty bulkly but it's not soo bad.

    When I was deciding what mp3 player to buy I went to amazon and there are pages of reviews about most mp3 player there. Hours of reading!

    If you order from www.creative.ie and choose the fast delivery option, you'll have it within one working day. That is, order tonight and you'll have it first thing Saturday morning (assuming DHL deliver on Saturdays).

    Strange. I work in the Dundalk store, where the Zen Micro Photo 8GB is €219 and the Zen Micro 6GB is €199 (or less).
    The Ipod Nano 4Gb is €271 in Argos and €259 in Harvey Normans.

    I'd be very surprised if its €271 in Argos as €259 is the standard retail price (and below cost at that). Apple's web site is your best bet for lower priced iPods, from what I've seen.

    They (Peats) must just have a ton of 20GB models in stock to be offering it at a special price of €269 - the normal price, from what I've seen, of them is €299. The main differences between the two are capacity (obviously) and the fact that yes, the 6GB model is physically smaller - and it has a removable battery, which the 20GB model doesn't have.

    I wouldn't buy a H10 - I think it's a perfect example of how iRiver have gone in completely the wrong direction. Bring back the H300 series, I say!

    Just a follow up here. The Zen Sleek was sold out in both Cork Argos'. Had a look at it in on the O2 stores. It's a bit bulky TBH. Finally got the Creative Zen Micro Photo in Soundstore on Plunket St. for €220. Not bad.

    Thanks for all the advice. It was very helpful.
