There's some kind of hive directly outside my back door. It's simple to observe, but it seems that bees AND wasps are flying into it. Is this possible?

Also, will they reach a critical mass at some point and swarm over me and kill me?

I live in Dublin city and I like being so close to nature. Still, I want to avoid multiple stings, if possible.

    Paul.
