Deal or no Deal

    Two people left in Tournie.
It's late and they are both interested in a deal.
    1st prize €1,600, 2nd €800
They want to tip dealers €150
Leader has 100,000 chips, 2nd has 70,000 chips.

What would be a fair deal and how do you work it out.

Well a simple way to work it out (if both players are equal in ability) is to just add up the total Payout = 1,600+800-150 = 2,250

Then take the chip stacks and work out the % each player has = 58%/42%

Therefore a fair deal would be 1,325/925...

Very simple but easy enough to work out...

But does this ignore the fact that 2nd is guaranteed €800

this is not how you work out a fair deal. Second place is guaranteed 800, why would he accept 925?

    Here's how to do it:

Both players are guaranteed 800 so they are playing for the other 800. Chip leader gets 10/17 of that 800 which is 470, other guy gets 330.

So they get 1270 and 1130 each. First guy leaves 80 for the dealers and second guy leaves 70, so 1190/1260 final split.

Take second place money for each of them and then divide the rest based on amount of chips. Subtract the dealer money at some stage as well.

I very much doubt it is Cecil so I presume it is the man in seat one (I don't know your name so apologies, but I have seen you in the Fitz several times).

Joe is the name, Seat one, ended up second.

Nothing significant at final table, but went from short stack to decent stack when I got dealt AA two hands in a row at second last table.
Also I didn't outdraw or wasn't outdrawn once during the whole tournie.
Also didnt get dealt AK or AQ at all the whole night.

I never played so few hands in a tournie.
