Playing a Sidegame in the citywest during the irish open events. it was a 200euro 2 table game. Also only top3 are paid in this. and everyone was more or less with 2K +/- of 8K.
managed to get down to 8 players and the blinds were getting fairly expensive. i was just over average stack with about 8.5K, blinds were 400-800 and i had gone all in 3 times in the first orbit showing lone A, (button folded around), AK, JJ.
It was folded to my SB and i just called 400 with 67c, and the BB checks. wanted to play a flop as the all-in fest was nearly ever hand so it made a change.
Flop came down 2d,3c,Qh and i had checked in the dark. the BB checks then after the flop. 6d comes on the turn and i bet out 3K, and the BB after a bit goes all-in for more than me, so its 5.1K for 12K. what do i do?

Any reads on BB? It looks like an easy fold TBH. You're behind to an awful lot of hands and the best you could hope for is that he's flush drawing. If he's got the STR8 you're as good as dead.

He has to be pushing with better than a 6 here the majority of times. I fold and hope to get aggressive on the button the nxt hand.

I dont like your turn bet, it's too big. 1200-1500 would have been fine. Now you're in a situation getting a nice price on a call, and in trouble if you fold, but you've no idea where you stand.

There's a lot of hands he can have here as well. I dont think he flopped top-pair, as he'd surely bet when things are so tight, wanting to take the pot down straight away. A flopped two-pair or turned two-pair is possible, as are a lot of pair-and-draw hands. I also doubt it's a pure bluff, he surely has something here. Some more info on villain would be nice.

It's probably marginal given the pot odds, but I dont think I could find a call here (except that only the top three get paid, so I might just take the chance). But a smaller turn bet makes the decision an easier fold, imo.

I agree with lenny, I would never bet that big in this situation because it makes it tough for you to fold now, 1500 is more than enough. I suppose I would fold, you are almost surely behind with no reads on the BB, but it is close and I was thinking of calling.

sorry fo rlack of response in America workign at the moment so internet hard to come by :)
i had played with him a few times before a very good player but lies to get aggressive, i had also played very tight for the games i had played with him in so i thought he was lookign to come over with anything knowign i could only call with a good hand. with that and the fact he didnt bet the flop, as im certain he would of with the queen, i called and he had 9Td, on the flush draw.
of course no good call goes unpunished and the diamond arrived. the others at the table thought it was a good call so maybe they thought what i did. thoughts? i think PPPspecial was playing, not sur eof any other boardsies...

The size of the turn bet is horrible and his push is worse. I would probably have just lead out on the flop here.

i thought the 3K was big enough to give the impression that i was going to commit to the hand, the table became hyper aggressive and im sure if i bet the flop he would have pushed all in regardless of his cards and so i thought i had to bet a little bit bigger.
