Acii Disco

This Saturday night sees Acii Disco into its third month at Dublin’s Hub venue, and with a new month, brings another fresh new line up. Over the next five weeks Acii Disco welcomes more of Dublins finest DJs and live acts alongside more hard hitting international super talent to the club. Getting things under way this week resident Al Keegan will be joined by bouncy electro house maestro Brian Kelly.

Brian Kelly has been part of the furniture on Dublin’s club scene for quite some time now and has been responsible for causing quite a stir at past top nights such as 12ten (ah back in the day) Chonk, Hospital, 515 and Mixed Salad. He plays a very tasty and quite unique mix of tough jackin house, bouncy electro and punchy acid that never fails to impress. If you like to be kept on your toes do check him out!

The following weeks we got even more on offer with a live set from up and coming electro sensation The Japanese Popstars, plus DJ sets from London based My Soul, Steve Wynne Jones is back (novadance), we also got Pogo resident Sian (pokerflat) making an appearance, Jonathan Woods makes a much welcomed return and Resident Al Keegan will play a very self indulgent two hour set. We will also be giving away lots of goodies with a mix CD going out at the end of the month along with the DVD which is already in production thanks to the Sourcecode lads.

Also don’t forget this coming Sunday, Mixed Salad in association with Acii Disco will take place in McGruders on Thomas Street. Join 18 top Dublin based DJs for a full day of quality music over two floors. With a BIG screen for the football, Beer Garden, BBQ plus lots of on the day drinks promotions. Doors open at 1pm and the music will stop at 11pm as to not interfere with work commitments on Monday.
Admission will be e10 and the line up looks like this.

Huge thanks to anybody that made it down to the club last week as it really was a cracker of a night! Also big thanks to Brian for rocking the place! Nice! This week we have one of the hottest electro acts to come out of Ireland recently THE JAPANESE POPSTARS are in the house! They will play both a DJ set plus there much talked about live set! This is defiantly one to check out as I’m sure its gonna be special!




Decky Hedrock, the man behind Hedrock Valley Beats, has been in the music industy since late 1998.
He's played the likes of Glastonbury Festival, Homelands, Planet Love, The Watershed and has three tours of Australia under his belt, as Hedrock Valley Beats.
He's also had various releases with labels such as Infectious Records, Freakaboom, Nerve Breaks, Brightstar and Fat! which led to a US No.1 in the National Airplay Chart, topping the Triple JJJ Net 50 charts in Oz and entering the Lebanese Pop charts at 21!
He was the first unsigned artist to have consecutive national daytime airplay on BBC Radio 1. Remix-wise he dabbled with Ash, James, Arthur Baker, Lulu, Pod & Wint and a list of others.
He's even made it to the comicbook world in "GI Joe: Frontline", this is the relaunched comicbook of the best selling action figure from the 80s!
Then we have Gary Curran - "DJ Curntables" who gave the HVB lads thier first ever gig. They kept in touch, he became thier tour DJ, Roadie, part-time Adventurer and now one part of The Japanese Popstars. Gary has supported many of the worlds most famous DJs over the years and has played some of the biggest clubs in his home in Ireland.
Gareth Donoghue has been producing and DJing under the name Galo for over 5 years. A self confessed technophobe, he has always keen to push the boundaries of his DJ sets. He has already made his mark supporting and playing along with some of the biggest names in the business at clubs like Lush etc. His mixes and productions have featured on some most listened to radio shows throughout the UK and Ireland, including BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and Pete Tongs Essential Selection shows.

So with all festivals at bay, it’s back to clubland for another week at Acii Disco. This Saturday welcomes the return of local boyo Steve Wynne Jones and from Londons hip happening electro house scene My Soul aka Shane Kehoe. Steve has been a regular at various nights around the city such as Electric City, 12ten, Mixed Salad and is known across the globe for his various mix tapes such as “Too many S.W.Js” and more recently “Acid to the moon” which has yet to make quite an impact globally but continues to take Dublin by storm! Shane aka My Soul has just been signed to Gungho records and is a regular guest at top nights all over London. He has jus had a track lisenced to Minstry of sound which will feature on Paul Jacksons “Its only a mixtape” compilation due out this summer. Expect a delicious mix of tough acid, electro and tech house.

Acii Disco

All local lads at Acii Disco this week, with the welcomed return of two more up and coming Dublin based DJs David Hargadon and Brian Cairns. Both are no strangers to the club, this will David’s second appearance and Brian’s third time to play to the Acii Disco massive. Expect tough tech house / electro from the Hargadon lad and from Mr.Cairns, who knows what to expect as it will be his first time to finish up a the club! Twisted techy bliss im guessing to suit any mood! Should be good!
