I'm in the market for a Vespa - new or good second hand. Can anyone tell me good places to go to check them out..... Other than Scooter Island. I'm looking for a PX125 or simular.

    Hi Digler,
give Karl in MC Scoots a call. Their repairs garage is up in Stoneybatter.
MODERN AND CLASSIC SCOOTERS - TEL (01)6586570 MOBILE (086)3652823 or (087)9532408 VESPA - LAMBRETTA - AUTOMATIC - LML. SPARES AND GENERAL REPAIRS. PAINT WORK FROM CRASH TO CUSTOM. SCOOTER SALES.

Consider a trip down Waterford direction...

Buy a copy of "Scootering" Magazine for info on parts dealers and specialist shops in the UK and further abroad.

I've found the best place to buy second hand is http://www.buyandsell.ie and ring up a few ads and go round and have a look... that's how I got my first LML 125 scooter! and my T5, and my other 2 PX200s :D

Thanks Tomohawk, I was looking out for some scooter clubs around Dublin but was having a bit of trouble, don't suppose you could help here too?

Don't think there are any active scooter clubs in Dublin anymore. I used to be in the Missing Link SC. Here's a link to the dead website which I used to webmaster in the final days...http://homepage.eircom.net/~mlsc/

Most of the Irish club links in Scootering magazine are way out of date!!

These lads formed a new club last year if that's any help, but from Bray to Gorey is their area of operation. http://www.n11saints.com/Links.htm

Get along to the Voodoo club on one of their organised Mod nights and you might meet some of the dublin scooterist scene. The "ScootEireann" forum is probably the most active one countrywide where those scooterists still going to rallies and driving and fixing their little vespas and lambrettas chat away and bang on about the state of things...

If he's still looking for one 5 years later, I don't think you could really count on him to be a serious buyer :P
