MTT Satellite Strategy

It suggests some strategies that I found very enlightening...
Like pushing LOADS and like NEVER calling an Allin from a stack that can bust you, unless you are a short stack and looking to double up.
He even gives an instance of folding AA when he is four-handed, second in chips, and facing a push from the chip leader, when two seats are up for grabs....

I might have to try that....

in fairness, ariston has a great record in those sats, so whos to argue.
as he says, its all about getting the seat, and yes, if 4 handed and 2 seats up for grabs, u really dont want to tangle with the CL.

that said, when i read that article some time ago, i do think its a bit on the uber tight side in parts.

just read the articles there from him and i must say that i found them fairly sensibel, he concentrates mostly on surviving rather than getting excited. which to be fair you dont get any more money in a satelitte if you get the 3rd seat or second so its prob fair enough. also with relation to that AK all-in thread, theres a bit on that. he reckon snever call an all-in from someone with more chips than you.

Great article and it works too for normal mtts. When I was playing in a similar way I was getting to a lot more final tables than playing normal poker. I've stopped playing so tight resently and the results aren't so good. Rarely get itm in those mtts now since I've changed my play so going back to playing tight til in the itm. Oh and last PPP 20k mtt I did well in I went out on the bubble...with KK Big stack made it all-in with after my big raise and I thought I was gonna double up. He had rockets.
