    & MAXIMUM JOY DJ's

    UNDERGROUND @ KENNEDY'S, 30-32 Westland Row, D2

    B-MUSIC COLLECTIVE
B-Music is an independent collective of DJs, musicians and music lovers dedicated to the obsessive and painstaking pursuit of obscure, obsolete, exquisitely obnoxious, unbelievable, underexposed and undeniably delectable discs of experimental pop music from the psyched-out sixties and seventies.

B-Music.co.uk provides a pocket library for discerning aficionados of fascinating rhythms from six times around the globe - unifying record collectors, beat diggers, fanatics of the avant-garde and trash-merchants alike.

Centred around the Mancunian eponymous travelling club and bar night - hosted by Andy Votel (Twisted Nerve) and Dominic Thomas - and along with twin record labels Finders Keepers and Delay 68, B-Music represents a passionate, un-blinkered approach to the culmination of way-out sounds encompassing all elements of off-kilter counter-culture: Psych Prog Space Rock Ye-Ye Euro Beat Folk Funk Jazz and Whacked Out Movie Musak, as well as cherry pickings of bugged-out cinema, design and literature in token doses.

    OPPENHEIMER
It's no coincidence that the first 3 letters of Oppenheimer can be rearranged to spell 'Pop'. Oppenheimer claim to be influenced by movies, indie pop, eno, MBV, synthesizers, electronica, Kraftwerk, Stereolab and Moog. We however think they're made of E numbers, helium and syrup 'cause we always leave their company giggling excitedly...
Their new album, Woo Hoo! Oppenheimer, is out now on Bar None Records.

Heres something for yis that might be of interest, Andy Votel etal will be presenting a live performancce by Jean Claude Vannier, might have to take a trip to London Town for this.....

JEAN CLAUDE VANNIER PLAYS MELODY NELSON & L'ENFANT ASSASSIN DES MOUCHES LIVE!!!

Histoire de Melody Nelson & L'Enfants Assassin Des Mouches with special guests Jarvis Cocker, Badly Drawn Boy, Mick Harvey & Gruff Rhys
    21 October 2006. 7.30pm.

Only Connect and Finders Keepers presents the first ever live performances of two cult classic albums 'Histoire De Melody Nelson' and 'L'Enfants Assassin Des Mouches' from 1971 and 1972 respectively. Produced by long-time collaborator of randy iconoclast Serge Gainsbourg, composer/arranger Jean-Claude Vannier's otherworldly string and choral arrangements are iconic of the era, and the rediscovery by a whole new generation has won him renewed acclaim.
A World Premier event, Vannier conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra, Crouch End Festival Chorus, a children's string quintet plus the inimitable musicians Dougie Wright, Big Jim Sullivan, and Herbie Flowers from the original recordings.
Jarvis Cocker, Damon Gough (Badly Drawn Boy), The Bad Seeds' Mick Harvey and The Super Furries' Gruff Rhys take it in turns to sing Serge for the performance of L'Histoire De Melody Nelson and L'Enfant Assassin des Mouches features live sound effects - including ringing bells, ticking clocks, a model helicopter, flies and even a billiards table.
