    Hello all
I will be moving to Waterford in the next few weeks, taking up a job in one of the industrial estates out by WIT. Can anyone recommend a location in Waterford to look for a house share. Somewhere where Im not stuck in traffic for too long, close to supermarket, gym etc and maybe a local bar;) well it cant be all work without play.
I have been looking on daft.ie and seen possibilities in Ardkeen, what is traffic like on that outer link road that connects with the cork road.
any insider info would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Generally, with the new road open, traffic problems are down to a minimal, Peak times are still a bit heavy, but you get that every where. You mentioned the Industrial estate, therefor the new road would suit you do to the ground.

That particular area has all your desired amenities so it may be a good option for you.

Even if you did'nt want to go out the Dunmore Road there are plenty of estates with access to the Outer Link Road now so it should'nt be a problem , but the Dunmore road would have all those amenities you're looking for and more .

Or maybe you'd like somewhere in the other side of the city, i.e Lismore Park or Lismore Lawn. Within walking distance of a Tescos (including supermarket), pubs and takeaways. Also within walking distance of the industrial estate

Ah Ardkeen has nothing around it. I lived in Penrose court for over a year. Nice apartment that I shared. Reasonable rent and I had use of the underground carpark! Get the Munster Express and look in that!

Umm... What doesn't Ardkeen have? Sure it's practically a separate town these days.

    Thanks all,
The munster express forgot about that. Had thought of Lismore Park area as I used to live there in my student days, but waterford has changed so much in recent years I would not be too familiar with all the new areas.
The search continues but now I have more specific areas in mind :)

There a clothes shop at the end of the parade, next to full of beans, beneath Siobhan's hairdressers, I think it's called Janelle or something like that. It used to be a paint shop

The Ardkeen area has improved greatly. Now there really is no need to go near the city centre for most stuff. Just bought a place out that way and I was amazed how much its changed in the last few years.

Plus with this new ringroad its opened it up as a good location to live no matter where in the city you're working :)
