Web Connectivity with Laptop

    Hi,

    Having a problem trying to connect a laptop to the internet. Basically one of our guys is over in our UK office today and he is unable to conect to the net. Now he is getting connection to the LAN (100mps) but just cant get up on the net...

    Any ideas guys

    It's very difficult to even guess where the problem may be without out more information.

    What operating system? What browser? What security software? What sites can the person see? Is there a proxy? etc.

    TBH this is probably better suited to the networks/comms forum.

    Your first port of call is to do an ipconfig on another connected machine and compare the ip address settings especially the gateway. Then try a tracert to see how far the connection gets. Don't rely on named addresses in case the dns is incorrect.
