So im looking for a new PCI-x graphics card. Iv been scanning komplett's clearance section for a few days and i just came up with these 2, they seem really good value but i wanted your folks opinions. I want to spend in the region of 200-250.

The second seems like a really good deal? But then why is the first more expensive if the second is the Professional edition  . Little confused as i dont usually use ATI cards.
    Any help would be great

    Endo.

    These aren't PCI-X cards.

Sorry, I'm a pedantic mood today...

They both look pretty much the same, in fact the cheaper one has a slightly faster core clock speed. I guess the difference in price is due to the manufacturer. Don't know about graphics cards but MSI do good motherboards. Never used a Club 3D card so I can't say. I'd probably go for the cheaper one as it seems the better deal.

OT, did anyone else catch the Pedantic Pat song on Dempsey's breakfast show this morning, 'twas class.

If you can stretch the budget out a little:

Otherwise, I imagine these would be the better option:

Inconsistency in price above is because they are B-Grade products , this means that something at some time has been considered wrong with these parts to some extent and they have been reduced in price accordingly , this could be as minor as bad packaging or missing manuals , up to a full blown repair , the price will reflect what was wrong , for instance the better card seems cheaper but probably had a more serious fault !

If you are planning on buying these read kompletts guidelines on B Grade products , warranty is reduced etc etc.

Well new a 7600GT Club3D or Gainward will offer roughly the same performance if you play games around 1280x1024, the X850XT would have the edge all right at higher resolutions but lacks SM 3.0 support.

A little unusual alright that the B-Grade Club3D X850XT-PE which is also faster is cheaper than the MSI X850XT but it is a good deal all the same.

Hmm, i will have to see what kind of paycheck my dad sends my way this week :D. Would the cards in the second link really be better than the x850's  , i really need to catch up with the ATI brand.
Any thoughts on the HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1800 GTO?

Ye, i know all about the b-grade products, it says the first was just used as a demo so may have marks from the screws, nothing serious :).
