I know this is a lame question, but I have Metro 3mb connection, now when I am downloading, the speed indicated on the browser is normally 300-350kb/s. what is the connection between the units?

3Mb/s is 3 MegaBITS per second. (Lowercase b in the Mb).

300KB/s is 300 KiloBYTES per second (uppercase B in the KB).

There are 8 bits in a Byte, so in theory a 3Mb service can deliver 375KB, though there are also some overheads. Dividing by 10 is a simple (and generous) rule of thumb).

350KB/s would be considered an excellent throughput on a 3Mb/s service.
