Is there any way to overcome the BBC's restriction on viewing video content from outside the UK? I need to (for strictly educational reasons). I tried using megaproxy.net, but that didn't work.

Working fine for me and I'm based in Dublin. Broadband line running Firefox as my browser. Default choice for the media player I used was WMP. Must be your settings are the problem. I browsed UK news and just picked a story at random. Worked first time.

Soundman: You with NTL or UTV? Their ip's often resolve to the UK so it will work for you. People with IBB, eircom, esat, etc all resolve to Ireland and are blocked.

I used a free proxy during the world snooker championships and it worked fine.
I had to try a few before I got it, and I had to change them but it does work
