    Hi

Has anyone come accross a virus that wipes your hard drive?? I turned on my PC yesterday and it went a bit mad.....stating it was unable to update my personal user name. Then when it eventually kicked in, everything had dissappeared from my desktop. All shotcuts, my entire e-mail account and my broadband connection. Then on closer inpection I realised every file/photograph and mp3 track has also disappeared. All the software was still there but no files!!

Does anyone know if there is a way to retrieve this information??

I can only assume it was a virus....but haven' come accross one to do such damage before!!!

i'd say your ntuser.dat went corrupt, i am sure all your stuff is still in
    c:\documents and settings\"your user name"\"you user name" 's documents\

or just do a search for *.mp3 and *.jpg
