Sorry I don't frequent this forum. Got this game about 2 months back for the PSP and horribly addicted to it.

Thing is I was just wondering how it compares to real world playing (I'm not a gambler and prefer not to be :) ).

Playing tournament I've managed to get to position 47 out of 6,000 players (once) but only because I got a lucky and basically sat on the cash for the whole time. Seem to end around close to the 2,000 position.

I've tried the Online playing and it basically sucks. May just be a case of playing with people who don't know how to play the game at all. The last match I played I basically raped everyone on the table and then they banned me from the second table. :(

Anyway just wondering if the computer is any good in relation to real world playing or is it teaching me bad habits?

Is this PSP hold'em where you're just playing against the computer's AI?
If it is then the AI is probably pretty bad, predictable and plays to set patterns. A bit like DeVore.

I think the AI isn't that bad. It appears not to bluff that often and I can sometimes guess what hand they have based on the bet (although by then they have taken most of my money).

I've also noticed when you start getting further in those players with higher cash tend to intentionally outbid you forcing you to fold except when you know you have a reasonable hand to continue.

In the normal mode your supposed to be able to see the players tells as well but the game takes too long to play.

I was more interested if it teaches bad habits playing against actual people.

If you can sometimes guess what hand it has then it might not be the best ever.
It might not teach you bad habits for playing against actual people, but as soon as you do play against real people the 'wtf' moments you experience will go through the roof!
