hey hows it goin, my brother gave me an old computer for me to have coz its better than the one i have now.. its kinda bare so i have buy some stuff for it but im confused about 3 things in it

    the first being this:
    Image197.jpg
its the sound cable running from the sound card to the cd drive, the black plug is the normal one but this has a white plug coming out of it.. where does it go?

    second one is:
    Image198.jpg
its one of the power leads for either the hard disks or the removable media disks, im not quite sure yet but its got an extra plug on the end, ive never seen it before, know what it is?

    and the last is:
    Image199.jpg
ive never seen these before in my life, they come straight from the power supply.. since ive never had to hook up a floppy drive myself im assuming thats what theyre for? or are they for the same thing at all? i dunno let me know anyway please and sorry for the bad quality...

    Sven

1st pic : cant make it out really but it looks like that type plugs into some NICs ( for Remote power wake-up )

2nd : is power for floppy drive

3rd : is power for the main board

thanks for the first 2 but i dunno about the last one coz the motherboard is already plugged in and theres nowhere for those plugs to go on the board..

Pic 1 is for the CD audio to the sound card. There are two types of connections - you just use one or the other depending on what card you have. That white one is the older version and has fallen out of usage.

Pic 2 is the floppy drive power connection.

Pic 3 on the right is the SATA power connector. If your motherboard doesn't have SATA ports then it's just not used. No idea what the left one is for.

The third one isn't a SATA power connecter. Its an extra power cable that goes into certain motherboards

It's an Aux Connector, provides 5volts DC to the board i think. NOt neccessarly used on all boards. Probably just the new highend ones. Your PC seems old so i wouldn't say its needed. If slot not on the mainboard, no need to use it
