Apologies if this has been posted before.
Im a biker on a full license and im 29. Full time biker since '01 and drive deauville. No claims since i started biking and have been with AON since the start.

However, insurance cost is still really high, thanks to [BEGIN RANT] bertie's lack of action on compulsory bike trainingand those plebs on mopeds who dont even wear a helmut properly and lets not forget those bikers who take pillion passengers on a provisional license. [END OF RANT]

What training courses can i do (if you have any URLs please post them) that AON will recognise and reduce my premiums?

AON are the only one that give a recognisable discount for Advanced Training.
CN do give "some" but at best it is 5-10% if you're lucky. They use it more as a "member of a recognised motorcycle organisation" like MAG ireland etc.

As far as the assessments have a look at www.aon.ie and then click "bikecare" on the right of the screen. There is a listing for their Testers that you contact to do their internal assessment. There are 4 grades ranging from 10%-30% off your premium.

AON also accept RoSPA and I think the IAM one.

Before taking my RoSPA test, I talked to both organisations, and the instructors and I went with RoSPA because their qualification is known and accepted around the world. There was something about the IAM one not being accepted in Britain. Obviously the Aon assessment is only accepted by themselves.

I think you can just apply for the test but I wanted to do the course too so I went with MSA (I would highly recommend them) but i think there are many other qualified instructors that can teach Advanced Driving courses.

If you want any further information just ask. I think it is definitely worthwhile even from a personal safety point of view.

    L.

You could try David Lyons on MRTG or motorbiketraining.net
Tricia Warner is another RoSPA diploma holder. Not sure if she's still in the country, but IRTA site should have some details.

Get training anyway - it's no bad thing but you'll get a nice surprise when you hit 30, insurance premium should drop quite a bit - a lot actually - although you probably have a full NCB so maybe the discount won't be so obvious.
