I was walking past a small mini-market that I've been going past for 2 years now and popped in yesterday 'cos I saw a Kit-Kat for sale in the window (you don't get them much in Paris). But forget the Kit Kat because I picked up a bottle of Guinness that I hadn't seen before: Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.

It's 7.5% strong, has "Property of Mauritius Breweries" stamped into the side and at €3 a bottle I think I'll stock some up for the summer :)

Can you get this stuff in Ireland or anything like it?

The Foreign Extra stout is for export and due to it's high alcohol content it keeps for ages. It's sold in African countries especially but it's readily available in Dublin

Yeah, Guinness Foriegn Extra strength (Brewed in Kenya i think) is available in alot of off-licence's in Dublin. I think the pic you have is of an older bottle though. If its the same one that i think we're talking about it comes in a smaller bottle with a yellow label. Here's a pic of its "stylish new bottle"...

    oleras,

It should be readily available in Ireland, unless you want the version brewed in the Mauritius. There are also Nigerian and Belgian brewed versions.
But the Irish version (7.5% aswell) is in a few shops here (Dungarvan) including the local Supervalu, so you should surely pick it up in Limerick.

With all their gimmicks, and ad campaigns, this is a real hidden gem of a Guinness stout.

Your nearest Tesco/Dunnes off-licence would have it.
Quite a few Super Valu and Centra shops would also stock it.

It's not hard to get, I'd been in every Dunne's and Tesco I've been in for the last few years.

    Looks like this:

In my tesco it is nowhere near the regular guinness draught, it is up with the 'world beers' and there is usually only 6 or so on the shelf, 1 single bottle at the front and the rest behind, so very easily missed.
