    Hi all,
I've read the guidelines, and have'nt been able to determine what I should do. I apologise intially for being a newbie etc, and whilst I am a relative boards virgin, I have posted 000's of times on askaboutmoney and gaaboard (my main interests, though i could hold a mean converstion on rugby and soccer too!!).
My question is this, having acquired a new laptop, i have mcafee for 15 months free, should i disregard this and just download AVG and ZoneAlarm - i had these on my previous computer and never had any problems (although AVG is'nt as great as some as you make out imo). I feel that given that McAfee is normally pay, it can't be that bad? Or am I wrong? They have what seems like a good firewall and the antivirus updates regularly - advice please, and I apologise if this has been covered before.

Windows XP Firewall, AVG and a router the simplest way to keep your PC secure.

Taking into account ram usage and €€€€.

What he said, also check the sig ofaidan_walsh, it has a couple of links to programs you might need. I use Windows Firewall, Anti-Vir and Sygate Personal Firewall (no longer supported as Symantec bought them out, but it'll do until I find something else better)
