Well got back from over 2 months away from my 360...I survived, and when I was away got a copy of Halo2 for the original xbox (i'd only played it in french)....Well it wont play in the 360??

Gives me some bulls**t line saying Pal50i not possible through VGA cable.
Anyone else come across the same problem??
    Any fix?
I'll be getting my sony bravia in a week, so do I have to wait until then, or is there some way around it?

    ....i need to play Halo!!!

    Thanks

I haven't tried it yet, but i think i heard if you put in your normal scart cable it will start up and download an update, then you should be able to play with your vga, I'm not sure if this is true but its worth a try!

I had the same problem as I only have a very old telly with no scart and use the monitor for the 360. The only way I managed to get the download involved some long network cables going out of windows and 'borrowing' a neighbours decent TV for a bit whilst I got the download done.

Thanks lads, will give it a go and report back :)

edit: Worked a charm lads, plugged it into the tv and got the download, then works no bother on the lcd :)

is that the backwards compatibility update?

No, H2 back compatibility ships with the premium system (its already on the hdd) then LIVE automatically downloads futher updates when you connect to the internet. This has to do with setting the right display, for h2 to work over the VGA. Sometimes 50/60h settings mean you have to set them up with the standard cable first.
