    Hi,

Does anyone know if Greenstar is the only company that services the Charlesland area?

    Thanks,
    Linda.

theres also Eurowaste (you can buy bags in Super Valu or order a wheelie bin) and A&E (bags and wheelie bins also but you have to ring them to get the bags)

they both have the edge over Greenstar in that they collect regular waste every week - Greenstar have one week each month where they only collect recycling (though plenty of people don't seem to realise this and leave their normal bins out anyway).

check the useful information thread for contact details.

Just wondering if there have been any changes in the competitiveness of the refuse collectors. I already have a greenS*ar service on the small bin but need to 'upgrade' to the standard bin. Who is the cheapest based on putting the bin out every second week?!

can't tell you who's cheapest but afaik the estate is currently served by:

    Greenstar
    Eurowaste
    Allied Waste

Eurowaste collect both bins every week now.

They charge 380 euros per year or you can pay a 160 euro service charge and then top up a payzone card every time you put your waste bin out - every lift is 9 euros. Recycling bin is free.

Greenstar are more expensive - rang them end of February and they said it would be 326 for rest of year ie. 10 months.

    HTH :)

Greenstar collect regular waste every week and have 2 recycling lifts a month, the regular waste lift is not affected by the recycling lifts.

that is correct, when I wrote that original post almost 2 years ago it wasn't the case though.

Eurowaste are the ones that are most helpful and the recycling every week for free is a brilliant idea. I rang greenstar and they were so expensive

Are Panda out in Greystones? We use them in Bray and find them very good. You can put glass in the green bin, which is very helpful.
