Ok so say your involved in pot in a cash game.
You have 33 on the button and there is a raise to you from a bad player from EP.
You reraise him to isolate or what ever and on the flop your looking at a big pot.
Flop comes and misses you but you get a check,
You make a big bet trying to get your opponent off the hand but he calls.
Now the pot is even bigger and I would usually do what I can to try and win it which usually includes following up with another big bet and the following street.
Now your opponents gets disconnected, which mean he/she can not respond to your bets in time and if you bet they will most likely time out and muck.now here is the dilemma ,if you bet you get stick from others saying bla bla bla bal, you’re a basterrrrrd and all this sh1t.
If you don’t bet you think your gonna loose the pot,but the fact remains that you had every intention of betting had he not got disconnected.
So the way I see it is seen as I would have betted anyway its ok to bet now and why should I loose the pot just because he/she got disconnected.
On the other hand the opponent usually has the better hand at that stage so im just wondering what you all think?

Cash game I take the pot, and give the user a phone number for support so he can go cry.

On some networks when they disconnect I think they're considered all-in and no more betting can take place and the hands will be shown down.

I presume you are talking about a table with no Disconnection Protection, in which case he knew the risks of a disconnection and so bet anyway, and TBH, who cares what the other players think.

I've seen whiteskank rob someones blinds constantly in a 1k headsup game when the other person got disconnected. They got back just as he robbed their last chip.

    Standard.

bet. tough tittie. If I am playing in a headsup match then I will usually wait a while but in a cash game there is less 'honour' I feel.

As long as you bet the amount you had intended on the turn I think that is fine..I have seen people bet the minimum just to get a fold, yuck.

I'd continue as I intended. That way my conscience is clear. If it was heads up I'd then sit out. If it was a full ring game then play continues as normal.

    DeV.

Your play on the hand is pretty bad. Theres no need to isolate a bad loose player with 33, and then firing multiple barrells getting them to fold is just chip spewing. Doing it with unpaired broadway cards is much better

HJ this hand didnt actually happen.
it was just an example to say that your trying to move some one off a hand with weak holdings and the pot is big and he gets disconnected.

Cumon, admit it, it really happened. The hand history is below:

    Villian is disconnected.
    Gholimoli bets $10
Villian has 10 seconds to respond
    Villian has reconnected.
Villian calls $10 and raises $5 and is all in
    Gholimoli calls $5
Showdown: Board Cards are 10h Qh 2s Jh 6c
Gholimoli has 3d3s (pair of threes)
Villian has AhKh (Straight Flush AKQJ10)
Villian wins $60 with Straight Flush AKQJ10

    :D:D:D
Personally i normally wait a few seconds, but i wouldnt check it down all the way for a showdown or anything like that. Wait for my time on that turn to almost run out and if he doesnt return, tough cookie. I think most people who check it down to give a showdown only really do it as they are scared of what the others at the table will say if he bets. But at the end of the day, money is money. We dont play poker to be generous.
