Hey guys, I know this is the wrong place for this post but where else on here is there such a collective group of Mac users who may be able to help? :)
Basically I've some questions regarding delivery times, and you can see my original post here.

    Thanks,
    Digi.

This is the correct place to post, by the way.
Generally, the computer will arrive before they say it should - generally by a couple of days anyways. When it starts to make its way across the globe, you'll get the updates.
If it says delivery by the 4th then I'd say expected for on the 1st/2nd.

Oh right, didn't realise that it was okay to post here. I though it was Mac OS related only! :)
Thanks for the reply, I'll update as soon as it arrives.

Just to give you some info I got the other day. I rang the sales number on the Apple site and the guy told me that they have a two week backlog on all MacBook orders. They don't have any stock in Ireland/UK and any orders are placed directly with their factory in China (?).

Yeah, that;s understandable. Apple would generally take that into consideration when giving you the estimate.

Weird - they never mentioned anything like that when I placed the order over the phone!
The carrier details still haven't been updated for my order which I find a bit weird.
    Thanks for the info guys.

The 3G store next to Maplin in Blanch had them on Friday.
    Black and white models.

Yeah, I should've done that instead of ringing the Apple Store. I placed my order on the 19th so it's a bit late to change my mind now. Still though, I'll know in future.
Oh and for those finding the tracking facility on Apple's site utterly useless, try www.apecode.com - highly recommended!

I just placed my order there a few minutes ago and I got an email saying it would be delivered by July 14th. I suppose it was a bit naive of me to think that when the website said "Ready to ship 3 days" that they had a laptop that matched my oreder and it was ready to ship, and it would be with me in 3 days ;)

Anyway, hope it gets here quick as I'm itchin' to get it. I've had my old iMac (DV Special Edition) for over 6 years now so I reckon it was time to upgrade. :D

I went for the White MacBook, 2.0GHz, upgraded to 80GB HD and 1GB (2x512MB) RAM. Gonna buy a keyboard & mighty mouse from a retail reseller I think and then get a large LCD TV to use as a second monitor at home.

    Any suggestions on the LCD?

custom built orders take alot longer. usually about a week for them to build it. sometimes longer. but once its shipped and hits europe you'll receive it VERY quickly. TNT (if they're still doing apple's shipping) are very effecient in my experience. but the guys who take it from the factory to them are very slow. apple's estimates are always good.
