Apple Store delivery times

    Hey guys,
I ordered my MacBook (BlackBook) from Apple early Monday morning (19/06/2006) and received an email that day containing shipping information etc.
    In that email it said:
"Your order should ship on or before 26.06.2006.
We estimate that it will be delivered to your shipping address on or before 28.06.2006."

"Fair enough" I thought to myself. But then yesterday I receive an email stating that my ordered items have been shipped. "Great" I thought, but what's this?

"We are pleased to send you this dispatch notification regarding your Apple Store order W79******.
We estimate that it will be delivered to your shipping address on or before 04.07.2006."

So they originally estimate dispatching on or before the 26th (which they did) but for some reason the delivery is going to take alot longer than originally estimated?
The Apple Store shows that my items have been shipped, but when I click on "Track this shipment" it shows "carrier details to be updated shortly."
"Shortly" to me means very soon - not days! And on this same screen they guesstimate that I should have it by the 2nd of July.

Now I know these things cannot be predicted, but this seems very strange to me. I am a person with alot of patience but once I've practically bought something and I'm waiting for it to arrive - I have the patience of a two-year old!

Has anyone had any experiences with Apple Store when it comes to ordering laptops? How long does it normally take?

At this stage, it would've been quicker for me to goto the nearest local retailer with a black MacBook in stock and bought it there.

    Digi.
