    I was joking.. relax.

What I meant to say was...

This modle doesn't really do anything for me. She doens't add to the photo.

Did she get much make up done? or hair? Bruises on her right knee..

Well, there's Dublin Coddle which is a rather odd dish involving boiling (yes boiling!) sausages, bacon, potatoes and onions, which is the only use of the word I know of. Can't quite understand the use in this context though :)

Oh, yes, and I like the photo, and the others you posted too, despite what others have said.

Of course, someone so highly rated on hotornot is entitled to pass judgement on those not so happily touched by the beautiful stick....

Alison, I like the colouring in this one but the stuff round the edges of the frame are distracting for me. I'd have liked to see a wee bit more detail in the blacks - I know I usually like them inky but this picture seems more subtle than that. I'm trying not to be too obvious but I can't help but think it isn't the most flattering picture of the girl though...

Alison ,I was referring to my looks resembling that of a bowl of coddle ,
Coddle is usually white ,with bit's of pink boiled sausage and bacon bits ,

Something you wouldn't use to advertise the latest undies at brown thomas.:D

So it must have been a photo of the wall in which the model accidentally walked into? Bit of an odd statement to make about the main subject of a photo imo.

I don't get fashion photography, so I just see tits I'm afraid!
Alison, to be honest, I think I'd rather see you on the other end of the camera...

Nice image, nice edgy lighting idea and good composition. I cant figure the models expression though. Wall seems blown out on rhs of model on my screen and its a little distracting.

Since you're playing why not convert everything to monochrome except her lips, bracelet, neclace and skirt. Bring back some detail in the wall maybe.

@Brian Oh so that was cuddle and not coddle :D Hmmm  lol
    I should really stop experimenting.

@Elven and Finoblad - have to agree with you, i was thinking of adding a few adjusted curve layers (one to lighten and one to darken) and bringing in more detail in the left and right. Appreciate the comments, only way to learn. As for the expression and model, at this stage i'm concentrating more on my editing . I should really concentrate on the overall picture.

And to whoever suggested shooting myself (pun intended!!!) - not a hope :D

I like the lighting, even if the back wall is close to burnt.
The processing is excellent, nice color and contrast.
The "thing" on the top left corner and the shadow on the right over the coach are a bit distracting, cloning could fix it ;)

The title is Alternative/Fetish... does that not suggest a break from the norm of make up and perfect looking models ?

I literally just threw a few things on the couch, i think they are needed, i wanted it to be more a scene than anything so the viewer was forced to scan the entire image opposed to just looking at the model - even if they couldnt make out everything. I by no means call this a high fashion image but i think with alot of my shots from here on in , i will do the same. I find that images with no distractions are focused entirely on the model and are somewhat boring. I love distractions :) They create stories!

Here's an image i posted recently that focuses on the model. I'm not fond of it to be honest.

I hate distractions, so this one that focuses on the model with nothing else taking away my eye looks great imo.

No problem...I'd say I'd look quite dashing in that outfit... ;)

If you're bored, and want to play about more with that first photo, and have Noise Ninja, you can get some pretty nice glows off it... Just a suggestion! :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 402 ✭✭AlisonB

Much more impresssive than the original picture IMO.
More interesting subject focus, model is presented much better and composition is better I think.
