    I agree those prices look great but I hope they stay like that and Intel can meet demand :)

    If I had the cash Id buy one now, overclockers are going to be one of the few supplier's in Europe with chips close to launch. Also prices will rise on demand and there will be demand.

    Are there any benchmarks on the lower end ones out?
    How do they (the lower conroe models in the 1ghz range) stack up to amd x2


    Was thinking about this one
    Intel Core 2 DUO E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-129-IN)

    But thats around 600 euro without shipping, not exactly cheap but compared to the fx series way better value it wuld appear, and I seen benchmarks on this, it kills the fx chips

    Also note that Amd are set to drop thier prices on the 24th of july, the day after the conroe is released. Already been anounced.

    The 6600 is the sweet spot IMO. A little overclocking and you should be able to go well about the 6700.

    You have to keep in mind that some of teh low end models do not have some of the fucntions that the higher modles do.( i think it might only be the very cheapest chip.
