    Hi,

Me and my girlfriend have decided to start having sex. We are both in our early twenties. Basically she is going on the pill and im going to use condoms as well just to be safe. But previously we have done oral sex for each other without protection. We are both virgins. Could we have STI's or passed them along when we did this? Im just worried and dont know a whole lot about them.

Possible, although the risk is low.

Genital lice (crabs) can be transmitted through hair and clothing. Various forms of herpes can be passed via the mucous areas of the body.

Of course watch out for pregnancy and most serious of all luurrve. ;)

very low risk if you havent had partners before, does this include oral?

herpes type I and II are interchangeable. So if either of you have a coldsore ..no oral

If it's your first time both of you just enjoys yourselves and stop worrying about the 0.000000001% chance that you could somehow pass something on to each other... Ok I'm being slightly tongue in cheek with my statistic there but ya get the idea!

Enjoy life and all it has to offer! :)

Thrush is caused by an yeast imblance and can be contracted with out sexual contact but it can be passed on that way.
It can be possible to be a virgin but to have thrush.

Not strictly true. Some STIs can be transmitted through non-sexual contact, e.g. HIV.
