    Hi,
I have a DVD that has something recorded off the TV, it was done with an Aldi DVD Recorder. I've tried Media Player Classic, WMP and Winamp to play it, I've also tried DVD Shrink but it wont read it. I've used Nero and the only option that has any sign of the tracks on it is Disc Info and Make or Modify DVD+VR, I can see the chapters and everything but I can't finalise it. I made an image of it, and burnt that to another disc, but this didn't help, it just made an exact copy of the same problem:o

    Any ideas? :)

There's no file extension, when I go to the CD drive in my computer, it's just as if I have a blank disc in it, but if I open up Nero and go to MAKE OR MODIFY DVD+VR, I can see the chapters and thumnails etc, but I can't play it back and I can't finalise it:confused:

It's playing DVD's fine, I just tried there. I think it's more the disc than the drive which is the problem. It was never finalised on the DVD Recorder after it recorded from the TV.

What you can do is import the video from the DVD+VR* into Nero Vision (Nero's Movie Creation program) and then create a DVD from it which will be finalized and playable in standalone players.

Start Nero Vision: Select Make DVD->DVD-Video: Select Import disc and point it to the drive with the DVD+VR in it: If all goes well it will read the video structure and show whats on it then select what you want for your new DVD.

    * Which itself is a DVD format but not a physical one, its used for DVD recorders to allow editing which is why the disc isn't finalized but also why not all applications support it like DVD Shrink.
