Anyone know anywhere to get a damaged Alloy Wheel repaired in Dublin and how much it would cost? Or Indeed any repair kits I could get myself?

Its not buckled. I just rubbed a high kerb and there is an almightly scratch on it.

Any bodyshop or tyre-repair shop should be able to tackle it or point you in the right direction

It depends on the finish. If its simply silver painted then any bodyshop could do it, or Chips Away. Also try CarCraft.ie.

If it has a polished rim, with clearcoat its a bit more difficult. My wife was run off the road about 2 months ago and badly scratched the rim of the CLK, which is a polished type. I was able to mask it up, rub it down using progressivley finer paper and then laquer it. Its now perfect !

Halfords do a kit, but you may have to order it. I examined the kit and bought the contenets seperately for about €10 total. Take your time and mask up using carboard before you start sanding as one slip can give you a worse scratch elsewhere on the wheel ! You may have to deflate the tyre too !

My Mates uncle is a panel beater so bringing it to him to get a look. He said he might be able to sand it and repaint it...

stay away from antan route 66 in ballymount,i left an alloy to get repaired by them and the job they did was rough!!!!!!! the wheel needed a weld and while grinding it one of the spokes obviously got in the way and the spoke has a couple of centimeters taken off it and looks very rough now! then to finish it off they painted over the area with a brush with paint that is nowhere near the colour of the wheel ,a useless indian lad called jimmy did the work and he certainly does not take pride in what he does!!!!!! i will NOT be recommending them to anyone!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

What are their prices do you know? i was thinking of either trading mine in or getting them repaired there. Not much damage, just a few scuffs.

Edit; jebus, this thread is old!
