I got mine in the post on Monday, good line-up, great article on Blue850s 850. Any chance of doing a feature on classic diecasts like in Classic and sportscar i.e. new releases or the like and what about classic hearses? Ireland has a huge history regarding these. Great magazine, good luck with it.

Just got mine yesterday! Its great ... a lot of tractors in it this month though. While Im only really interested in the cars, I still thought it was very good indeed. The events calender in it is very handy too.

Where can I buy it? Went into Easons on Saturday but there was no sign of it in the motoring section.

The owner said to email him if anyone had any problem buying it - see post no 28 on this link for his email. ;)

Had a flick though it in Easons, lots of tractors. I have to remember that it is Irish Vintage Scene and not Irish-American Muscle Car :D

I should put together a story myself and stop complaining

Give the magazine a chance guys. It's great to finally have an Irish magazine like it!!

I too would like to see more variety in it.
If we keep buying/supporting it this will come in time.

Keep up the good work 1300e Mk1!

Ill keep buying it anyway, no matter what - its the only one we have so , as you say, we have to support it. As I said before, its handy to have all the event dates together in one place as well. And of course the IVS team would be happy to feature what ever interests us.

I have to agree, lots and lots of tractors, so I have to say I'm disappointed. Sorry. I do realise (having been to the Innistoige show this weekend) that that's probably a big market here and I'm not for one second criticising you for having such a large % dedicated to them but I was hoping for a little more content dedicated to cars and maybe a few resources (mechanics etc). Anyhoo thats my 1c worth!

I went to a show at tinahealy last monday and I have to say that our classic shows are in the happenny place compared to agri shows.I was amazed at the numbers that attended and I think it's good sense that IVS cater to what is probably a huge market.I too would love to see a bit of yank stuff but i'm sure it will come,'cough 68'.

    well tom

I've been thinking of sending in some articals, maybe you'd let me photo your car and give me soem history, details and we'll see if they will print my efforts and your car!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,266 ✭✭✭MercMad

Yeah you see thats it, the tractor and commercial enthusiasts have already sent thier articles. Whatever is sent in WILL be printed I believe so start writing, 'cos I'd love to read about the range of cars we have here on Boards !

To be honest In do actually like reading about commercials and tractors, since I knwo nothing about them, save for what some look like, so its always good to learn !

how about an article about...boards.ie and the diversity of the cars here??

Never seen a question go unanswered, this has been an invaluable resource to me.

well lets get one of the friendly weekend runs going and I'll write it up and post send it in.

I'm gonna start sending in articals, hoping to write up 2 a month, it would be up to the mag editor if he uses any but I'm looking at it as a hobby.

I'm looking for 2 volunteers for September, I already have a mini and a yank so what else have ya?

    Hi all
Its great to see a bit of banter ongoing about the magazine it helps me get a feel for what people. I will try to reply to all as fast as possible.
For not the 1st time Ive been told magazine is to tractor based. i am a car lover and only a passing intrest in tractors which has grown over the last few years from attending shows. My market research showd a car mag would not survive alone so thats why we have a mixed mag to widen intrest. I have always said the magazine would be 1/2 cars 1/2 tractors and not favour any one. So just incase I have slipped I decided to do a page count on issue 3
    Heres my count.
News and events (this is info received from clubs i print every thing i receive )
Artcles on cars 4. Bikes 1. Tractors 2. Vintage Shows 4 (these shows are for cars/tractors alike)
Letters to ed ( anyone who wishs to email me their views it will be printed good or bad) 2 letters on cars 1 on tractor
Features pages on car 20 on tractors 7
Show reports 1 report maily tractors
    Military 2 pages
    Bikes 1 page
Classifieds 2 pages car 1 colum tractors
So am I missing something cos I think the mag is a lot more car than tractor
    Regards
    TOM

I think a forum would be a great idea Tom, it would create traffic, raise the profile and also be an insight into peoples views and expectations !

The mag seems to be getting thicker with each issue which is good :) One thing I find is that newsagents tend to display the mag very poorly, it doesn't get "pride of place" that mags like Classic & Sportscar etc. get. Possibly this is due to IVS being a thin magazine so it's easy to stick a few in behind some other mag. Don't know if there's anything that can be done about this.

Also I have a suggestion for the mag - if you could get some photos of old Irish traffic scene adn publish them (wth captions) in the mag I reckon that would be cool. Popular Classics magazine used to have old photos and I always thought they were interesting.

Everbody get down to your newsagents and move IVS to the front and the others to the back! :D
I also like the old photos idea. I think it was mentioned here before.

    Mike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 61 ✭✭1300e mk1

yes you can get the magazine in Easons and most good newsagents nationwide. Also for €59 you can get 12 issues by post before it is in the shops (subscribers will receive issue 4 this fri and it will not be in shops until monday).
