music burning problems

    Hi i have win xp sp 2. i am having music burning problems. Before i used be able to rip music however when i used burn a cd it used fail when it was about to finish the cd burning process.

    Nowadays it wont even rip music.. Attached is the message it displays.


    Is there anyway i can reset windows media player back to the original settings when i got my computer first before service pack 2 came about???? i think all these windows updates are fVcking it up. my burner is a Samsung cd-r/rw SW-252F

    What version of Media Player are you using?

    1st try to upgrade to media player 11 beta (you'll b well impressed, its deadly) c if this works. try 2 update driver for burner.
    do you have more than 1 burning software progs on your pc (sonic, Nero or similar)? more than 1 can sumtimes cause a conflict. have seen something similar on friends pc when he installed another burning prog.

    was going to try reformat the computer one of these days altogether mate. jsut need to backup first. have to get a large storage device. ill try update thr driver though

    reformat should fix it

    just make sure you have all the new drivers before you reformat. i'm the reformat king. have done it 3 times in last year :)

    3 times in a year? I'm sorry but that's nothing. I format at least one of my computers on a fortnightly basis. I have it down to 38 minutes as a record now. I really should learn how to ghost!

    Ya but you prob need 2 reformat (hehe). I do it for fun...lol. Keeps me away from missis.:D

    Formatting is a bit extreme, no? Formatting is the cowards' way out :) Download and only use Nero and all of your problems will be solved.
