    Musiklab Presents
    CARLSBERG TRAFEST FESTIVAL
Friday June 30th to Sunday July 2nd
    Tramore Co. Waterford

    CARLSBERG TRAFEST IS 10!
The Trafest Festival marks its 10th year this summer with the most impressive line up yet. This years festival welcomes a new sponsor, Carlsberg, and takes place over 3 days and nights from Friday June 30th to Sunday July 2nd in Tramore Co. Waterford. Just some of the highlights this year include

    KILA:
Huge festival favourites Kila know a thing or two about making any venue rock. With six highly acclaimed best selling original albums, live albums & DVD’s and plenty of solo projects their popularity shouldn’t be of any surprise. They might be classed as a traditional Irish music act, but their influences from such diverse genres as world music, techno & rock music make them stand out and appeal to a wider audience. Their stage presence, which most bands would probably give an arm and a leg for, is magic with just as much energy packed into every gig whether it’s selling out Vicar Street, touring the globe or at Trafest, as they displayed on their last visit in 2003.

    JACK L:
When rating his London show The Guardian gave it a very impressive 5 out of 5 claiming Jack to be a “blend between Frank Sinatra, Jacques Brel, Scott Walker & Nick Cave”. He is a multi platinum selling singer songwriter whose albums have been noted for their beautiful songs and his unique voice. In 2003 his three week show at Dublin venue Spirit turned into a fourteen week run with Jack playing to a total audience of 70,000. He is one of the few artists to have ever played three consecutive days at Glastonbury and if you’re not a fan by the time he takes to the stage at Trafest, you will be soon afterwards

    DAVID DURIEZ:
The last time this French electronic music producer played Waterford was to ring in 2006 in front of the biggest audience Waterford had seen for New Years Eve since the turn of the Millennium. He has carved out his own niche with his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge record label, his discography amounts to over 200 records as producer, composer or remixer. His exhaustive DJ schedule takes him to all corners of the globe where his all embracing style of grooved up house & ahead of its time techno goes down a storm. Just one of the late night shows not to be missed

    ERIC BELL:
A founding member of one of Irelands best bands Thin Lizzy, Eric Bell is a living walking legend. Eric met Phil Lynott and drummer Brian Downey in Dublin in 1969 and together they formed the band which was one of the first Irish bands to be a huge success all over the world. He stayed with the band until 1973 during that time they recorded and released their first three albums: Thin Lizzy, Shades of a Blue Orphanage & Vagabonds of the Western World with Eric playing guitar, singing and helping to write many of the songs with Philip.

    FRANK & WALTERS:
With a history that stretches back to the early 90’s The Franks have come a long way in their 15 years. Bursting onto the scene with acclaimed EP’s, their energetic live shows, infectious melodies and seemingly irrepressible happiness built up a loyal following and before very long, every major and independent record label was showing interest. Having Radiohead & Suede as support acts (and a young roadie named Noel Gallagher) the Cork band continued to reach new critical peaks and relocated to New York. After touring a ‘Best of’ the band took a break in 2002. They returned in 2005 with the album ‘Souvenirs’ which showcased the bands new material and their ever lasting ability to write catchy infectious indie anthems.

MANU & HIS LATIN HOUSE BAND:
Manú and his Latino House is a showcase of talented international musicians who have joined with Manú Ramírez, a Guatemalan composer / performer extraordinaire, to make an exciting, innovative and tasty Latin-Dance fusion with Afro-Caribbean influences. Latino House was formed by Manu six years ago and since then has toured Ireland spreading contagious Latin rhythms and melodies and creating a passionate following. The band creates a show that reflects the vibrancy of Latin-American music, traditional, modern and original. Romantic, sensual, rhythmic and explosive, Latino House is a fiesta for the body, mind and spirit! Manú Ramírez was born in Guatemala City. He played with various bands in California for a number of years, including playing bass for Blue Grass/Country western legend Pete Seeger, before moving to Ireland in the late 80’s. With recent shows all around Ireland Manú & his Latino House continues to grow and consistently proves to be one of the best Latino groups to this day in Ireland
