Maybe you should look at getting that MB on ebay... Dell will fleece you.

they're more than €100 from the u.k on ebay. wonder what dell will charge.
Does anyone know if any other m.b fit into the case or do dell use proprietry mountings and power connectors?

GX270 eh? The electrolytic caps didn't happen to over heat and blow up by any chance did they? This is a known problem with that series motherboard that Dell should have recalled and replaced but didn't. Another reason to hate Dell.

Ebay would probably be the best bet, but I'd also imagine that ringing the standard Dell sales line would also work.

yup. they did indeed. am amazed that dell were never forced into a recall considering the amout that seems to have bust.
Its a grand little case, thats why i'd rather a new m.b. rather than gutting it.

Try ebay.com, might pick up something cheaper there if US sellers would ship to Ireland. I bought a battery for my dell lappy, hard drive and some memory and they all worked fine. Best of luck with it anyway.

If you are able to Solder you can buy new capacitor kits online for these and just replace them the capacitors in these kits are generally hight quality japanese one which are better than the cheap ones dell use on their boards
