I have been down each day of the week so far to check out the appointments sections in the various newspapers and i'm just wondering which one is the best for jobs (i'm looking for an IT pos).

Which ones do the supplements and when do they appear on the shelf?

Definately not the Indo on a thursday anyway, never any IT jobs in it. Not sure about the Times on a friday, I think I recall it being a little better for IT. Probably some of the sunday papers like the times or business post would be the best bet?

Newspapers are pretty much obsolete for IT jobs as most positions are advertised on the net these days.

A significant number of the positions advertised in the newspapers are quite general & not terribly specific. These are mainly for CV "harvesting" by the agencies.

What kind of role are you looking for?

Don't bother with the newspapers, Hill Billy is right.

www.jobs.ie is a good place to look as the majority of the jobs are posted by employers as opposed to agencies. It's also worth posting your CV on monster.... let the mountain come to Mohammed, so to speak. If you're looking for a developer job, www.irishdev.com has also just launched a jobs section on their site.
