maternity Leave

    Hi Everyone, Im a 20 year old girl im 6 months into my first pregnancy. Im a fulltime employee of an It Company and i am wishing to take maternity leave at the soonest time possible. can anybody tell me when this is?

    Hi OP you will have 22 weeks maternity leave see here for more info: Linky

    I think most women stop working four weeks before due date and use other weeks for after baby is born. After that you can then take an additional 12 weeks unpaid leave. So basically it is up to you, and your employer and what kind of agreement you can reach inside those guidelines!

    You need to give work 4 weeks notice of the date you leave. You have to leave 2 weeks before babys due date and not more than 14 weeks before the baby is due. So you probably can leave soon once you give the correct notice.
    Just remember it is 22 weeks in total so if you take 14 before you will only have 8 after the baby's due date, if you go late it could mean you only have 5/6 after your baby is born. You can also take some unpaid additional leave.
