i successfully set up my 2nd hand digibox and dish last night. This was my 2nd night at it. Had a dodgy compass but eventually with much patience got the signal. The card i had gotten with the box was supposed to be a Freesat card (uk) as i got the box from ebay. But when i put in card last night, no c4! Shock horror, cos dats all herself wanted, so even having delivered all these other extra channels, still wasnt good enuff!

Anyway yell be glad to know that having left card in box overnight i had c4 this morning!

Now what i want to know is:

i see an aeriel input at the back of the digibox, is it possible to input my rte and tg4 aeriels here and be able to view them thru the sky epg?

or is that just wishful thinking.

Also, was just wondering if someone could post link of full list of free channels available on the sky digital as its a bit cumbersome flicking thru all those channels to find the few free ones!

Also is there a handy way to alter the epg so as to only show what i have?

Connecting the aeriel to the sky box does not add the irish channels to the EPG. It does allow you to distribute the irish channels and whatever digital channel is on to another TV though using the RF2 output.

The best way to only list the channels you have is to set up the favourites menu. This allows you to select up to 50 channels. When you have set up the favourites (use the services menu) you will be able to see a list of all the FTA channels by pressing guide followed by the blue button. Setting up the channels may be a bit tedious but you should only have to do it once.

You said that "connecting the aeriel to the sky box does not add the irish channels to the EPG. It does allow you to distribute the irish channels and whatever digital channel is on to another TV though using the RF2 output."

Can you connect the NTL cable (instead of an aerial) to the box and redistribute etc....?

    Thanks

You certainly can put your ntl cable into the sky box and view the sky channel selected and all the analogue ntl channels on a 2nd tv.

can u record from sky digital?

i presume that the digibox could be connected thru a vcr and then record onto vcr?

Yes, onto VCR or DVDR or even a Hard Disk recorder.
