I've only ever let go of KK once, when I got reraised by a guy whose pf stats were ~5 VP$IP and <4 PFR% and he had AKo

You come across far more threads from people who let go of KK only to find that they were against QQ etc., than threads where the op got it right. Once I realised that I stopped trying.
