As it said above ive just booked this exam online for two weeks time , i decided to get it out of the way before i study for the CCNA , and i was wondering how long will i get to sit each one , as im having to go as far as wexford to do it as most places are booked out for the next few months in dublin .so i booked both in the one day ..
The core ive booked for in the morning at 1200 and the OS in the afternoon at 3.30 after booking and paying for these i started to think if ive given myself eoungh time  ????
there must be plenty of you out there who has done this course any help would be great ...Thanks

P.S. How soon after sitting the exam do you know if you have passed ???

I believe they are updating the A+ with new material sometime this year, best of luck OP. Also if you wanted, no harm in taking each part of the exam on seperate days. :)

    http://www.vue.com/services/

you need to reg with them first then you get sent out an email to comfrim and then you go through the process of locating a test centre near you ... here is a list of the one they showed ...
Test Centers - Sorted by City
PFH Computers Eastgate Avenue EastgateLitle Island Co. Cork
Irish Academy of Computer Training - IACT +353 1 4347600 98 St. Stephens Green Dublin 2 Dublin
    Hi-Tech Associates 18820000 . 28 Tolka Valley Business Park .Ballyboggan Rd.DUBLIN 11
CK Business Electronics Ltd ,Galway Retail Park Headford Road Galway
Creative Training Ltd .Chapel Avenue Sallins PO BOX 529 NAAS
Allen Technology .59 South Main St Wexford

The both of them came to 404 euro with the VAT ..most of the dublin ones are all booked out for months ..so Wexford was the only one , Plus you pay online to this website and now to the test centre as i rang this morning and was told to go to the site and do everything through them and then just drop in the day of the exam ..

    Thanks for that lads

    Oh hell yeah.
Could get through each of them in 15-20 mins if you know the coursework and are confident with your answers.
Most of the time people spend himming and hawing about the answers and checking back over all the questions... or they've skipped questions and they're coming back to answer them.
Even if you take your time with your answers, you'll have buckets of time between exams.

And yeah, you should get a print out with your results when you're done.

Im interested in these kind of courses myself as I have a very big interest in computers and networks.

Are these courses really hard, like harder than an electronics course so to speak?

I find the coursework on the A+ fairly easy but I have been messing around with computers for a while now. CompTIA have all sorts of different courses, I personally think they are well worth it and are a great ladder to other things. They award college credit for them too. Make sure to check out their website, here and check out the quicklinks for certifications they offer.

i done the A+ Core today and i passed which im more than happy about it , it was the new one with the 100 questions and the same time to take it 120 minutes ..you need to get above 70 right to pass ,and i got 89 so im chuffed with that ..the only problem was driving all the way down to wexford as the test centres in dublin where booked out for months .
The OS exam is on friday ,and as i was told its alot harder than the Core so fingers crossed as the core is no good without the Os you need both to be certified ..so hopefully ill get it and then do the network + next month and then before the year ends the CCNA  :o
