    Hey,
I'm jsut wondering if anyone knows of a good hostel to spend 3 nights in in Amsterdam?? I've gotten flights for €50 return leaving Cardiff so they were too cheap to turn down. I'm looking for somewhere at maybe €20 a night. I might be on my own or maybe witha friend so it's not going to be some crazy stag party, noise won't be a problem. Thanks a lot

    try the flying Pig http://www.flyingpig.nl

they have two in the dam and they are a great spot to stay in. Have a nice bar(late hours) and chillout rooms. I've stayed in the downtown a few times.

great little spot considering what dives some of the other hostels are.

I'm not all that gone on the Flying Pig anymore, it's full of peewee yanks going "Dude wheres my face" and "dude that's awesome" they would have done my head right in if I wasn't so stoned. Not that you'll avoid Yanks and Aussies no matter what Hostel you go to.

The bulldogs are supposed to be good then there's Dirty Nellys an Irish hostel just off the redlight. try hostelworld.com for everything that's available (even cheap houseboats)

Dirty Nelly's you say.... Irish you say :) TBH I don't mind where I go but annoying yanks out of their heads on mushies would definatly annoy me no end. I'll have a look on google for dirty nelly's website. How much is it a night.. if you remember?

Think I stayed in Dirty Nelly's inadvertantly (could have been Molly's, no idea really).
We were drinking in their bar rather early into a Tuesday morning - eventually they persuaded me to make use of a bed at about 5am (I had accomodation further out from the town centre). Was certainly very friendly, and I appreciated that they started serving me drink again when I awoke 4 hours later :) Possibly they had breakfast for me too but I won't attempt to confirm that.

I stayed in Hostel Cosmos ... it was very small with no real space to hangout or anything, but it's not a bad place if you can't find somewhere bigger. About 5 mins walk from the Centrael Station.
