vodafones website is down...again it hasnt been working since yesterday- is it just me or does this happen at least once a month? God forbid any of us woul dactually get to use the free texts they go on about. Im convinced they take it down on purpose at the end of the month so we will all spend a little more on our phones.

I can't understand why it goes down so much...

my email is with vodafone.ie and the downtime really pisses me off. I them to complain about it a few weeks ago. I had emails I needed to print out for flights, hotel etc as I was going away. The guy who I spoke to was very helpful but couldnt offer me any explanation as to why the site is always down. However I had to give him access to my email so he could forward my emails to my hotmail account. When he was in my emails, he looked up my bebo account and added himself as a friend to my account, which was creepy.

that is creepy. i think you should complain to vodafone about that, or just not have a bebo account.

what?? A bit more than creepy I think! I would have been livid. Hope you changed your password!

Tbh for the vodafone and the o2 account traffic is a major issue i would assume....just like Boards.ie

I have noticed boards.ie being down far more than i have noticed vodafone as of late....though i remember a few months back vodafone was down pretty much all the time!!!! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭plenderj

I work in networking & datacomms, and whilst traffic to a very busy site can be a big factor, for someone with the money to spend like vodafone it shouldn't be... /shrug/

Yeah, i would call back and let his Line Manager know about it....i have worked in call centers and you get some weird cookies tbh , and people who will do a lot worse than just add themselve son your bebo.

I deleted him from my friends, and if I could find out how to change my password on vodafone, I would.

it's not that difficult. you'll have to wait though. :D

After you log on, under the pic of the guy on the phone , there should be a wee drop down menu, the first option in that should be "change password" then just go from there. ;)

It's basically a small "need help" section under the main part.

*thinks* could be the pop ups....i get that too, when i doesn; open, or if it opens black, just close it off, read the main screen and you should see the below as your first line ..... click on the relevant part and you mail should open.

Vodafone Mail is now even better!
Vodafone Mail should have automatically opened in a new window, if it did not load click here to open.

Finally, for those having trouble with www.vodafone.ie , try logging on through www.myvodafone.ie instead and see what happens....it seems to be more reliable.

oh the mail box does open.It isnt the pop up blocker either. Just stopped allowing me to actually open the emails 3 weeks ago. Piece of crap.

Don't use vodafone mail, it always fails, try g-mail or whatever anything but vodafine mail, used to work in the place, I hold no grudges btw against it but I remember in meeting manager said don't dream of sticking anything important on it as it will crash and it hasn't improved since.

    This is too funny, muahaha.
Why couldn't you just give him the friend he needed?? :(

Cos people who log into your bebo account and add themselves to your page are slightly psychotic.

I don't know. But if it's being going on for over 4 years it must be bad.

Maybe try one of these forums fedupness.

I must concur with the masses here. I can't understand how a company of their size who sell broadband and generally do alot of business over the Net can have such a sh1tty website for so long.

I haven't used their site for webtext for a while since I found cabbagetexter

[edit]: I do have vodafone email as well, among others, but as the voda one sends me a text when I get an email, with the senders address in, I only have to check it when I get an email I want, or can't guess the content of (e.g. when I've bid for something on eBay or paid for it with PayPal, I know what the email will be)

I'd say they're ten time better than the last shower I had (
    BT
). At least they rang back when I did complain to see if the problem was resolved a few days later. What really get my goat is when other operators blame Eircom for their lines etc.

    Aaa... no.
You ought to read the comments about them in the Broadband section here: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=259

And if that is too much see my own fiasco with them, read here (see Vodafone logo and under it): http://unitedpeople.ie/news.html

I'm but one of many that has come to the conclusion that as soon as BT transferred Broadband services, within 24 hours Vodafone started screwing up BIG time and still continue to do so

The Vodafone website is a pain, cannot access some of its webpages cause the server is busy or its down or something. Drives me round the bend. The one thing I need to do is stop a music subscription, can't stop it unless I get into that webpage to do that, can't do it with just texting to the number, is a nuisance. Even to top up, the webpage might not always show up on screen. Arraghh!

A complete farce of a company as far as I can see.
At least in Ireland, their services are a disgrace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,231 ✭✭✭✭ejmaztec

Vodafone hasn't solved the problem after 4 years?

My problem with them has only been going on for 9 months, so I've got no feckin chance of a solution.

the dealer sites in phone shops always go on a no go a few times a month. It's quite frustrating when someone wants a bill phone and vodafone won't print out the freaking contract!
