Most likely a codec problem. Also, being mpeg format files, have you tried opening them in Quicktime?

Google a software called VLC Player, it is excellent for opening problematic vids! Always works for me :)

lol dont give up that easy ( especially after goin 2 the trouble of getting them 0 ) ..... what extension are they ?

What u could do also is ( depending what site u got the torrent from ) either look at the "notes" ( may be called different, again depending on actual site ) and see if others had the same problem once the file was downloaded , there should be an option to ask others if they experienced difficulties , if u dont see it in the 'notes'

I've found on ocasion that the files on torrents are not always of the type that the extension says they are. They could be rar/zip archives. Try renaming the extension to rar or zip and open in winrar/winzip/7zip or other archiver. This might work.

Could also be a bogus file of course, or just corrupt. Can you open the mpeg in a program called Virtualdub. This will normally open corrupt video files (mpeg and avi but not wmv) and let you re-compress them as AVI, though if it's corrupt it may have bits missing.

umm - Quicktime format is .mov

If VLC didn't work check your torrent client - did you get 100% of the files?

I had a similar problem recently none of my umpteen media players would play simple avi / mpeg files (although I did get sound) so I used psp video 9 to convert them to MP4 and played them in iTunes no problem

Your proably right, the file is probably not downloaded yet, but the size on the disc will be 100% for most BT clients.

    Download Gspot.

It'll tell you what codec you're supposed to have to play the file.

What about Azureus? Azureus downloads and opens torrent files no bother. :)

Indeed, but the OP has already used a program to download whatever it is and now needs to open it with the required media player and codec.

BTW, you should maybe read up on the rules about posting links in this forum....

When I finish downloading a file Azureus rechecks the file, kind of like rehashing it. Not all clients do it automatically and when I use to use ABC Torrent I had to manually recheck each file afterwards or they would be corrupt.

Did you actually download the file, or just the Torrent infomation... A fully downloaded mp3 will be 3 Megs, where as the torrent information will only be 40k.
