Can anyone reccomend a website for showing pictures (commercially) on? I am looking for a site to put up my best shots on. I am using Flickr at the mo, but just for showing pictures.

What do you mean "commerically"? What's the difference between "just showing" and "putting up" your shots?

www.istockphoto.com and www.bigphoto.com both accept shots for sale (Royalty Free). They're pretty rigorous about checking the shots though. They'll reject any which are not up to scratch technically but it's worth a try. You won't become a millionaire with them but it's a good start.

I mean putting shots up for sale by myself, maybe with a template, thanks digitalbeginner I will have a look at those 2 sites.

why not create your own? At least then it'll look somewhat original, not like a cut & pasted, stamped out template that hundreds of other people are using

I'm looking at that at the moment. To sell on the internet you will need a shopping cart enabled site and at least a PayPal account. Professional graphic designers etc will use company credit cards, so to get to the bigger payers you really need credit card facilities.

I can give you the name of the company I'm dealing with if you want to go down that road.

Good advice digitalbeginner, I would really appreciate that. I am starting to do some events at the moment and have a lot of pictures that could be sold to people after the event. I have got to look into a high speed dye sub machine that I seen in this months Professional Photographer. :)

I use Frontpage 2003 for the layout and publishing .... and Photoshop for the graphics end, very simple to use, then all you need is a paypal account and your laughing.
