My mother told me at the weekend that some dinkys are quite valuable depending on the serial numbers. I have quite a few in the attic at home and i was wondering which ones are worth holding on to as an investment? I'll probable give the rest to the church jumble sale.

Cant say I know much about dinky's or serials numbers for that matter, but what I have learned from watching the range of antique and collectable programmes on BBC is that value is established by:
    • If its in its original packaging (very important, the box sorts of makes or breaks these things!)
    • Condition, ie, were they played with much, any marks, dents or scratches
    • Reputable brands, such as 'Corgi' etc obviously demand higher prices.

Have a look through them and see what you got...

Have a good few corgis in the attic, i'll root them out next weekend and see what sort of nick they are in. I'll hold on to most of them as its nice to have a peice of history.

Have a root about and see what you find, let us know if there is anything of interest up there ;). Tis always nice to hang onto a few of course, for old times sake.

I collect models. If your dinkys are Dinky Toys, then they are made in Liverpool and also Hong Kong. They would have a good value if they have their boxes and are in good condition. Other makes are Corgi, Matchbox, Spot on and other continental and overseas makes which are, well, in the millions............
