Temping Agencies

I'm a college student looking for summer work, and I've been pointed in the way of temping agencies, specifically for work in the financial sector (given that I'm doing a maths degree and have some vague accounting experience). I've already gone to two or three agencies, had a chat and dropped in my CVs, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice dealing with them. Should I go for as many agencies as I can find, or focus on a single agency? Should I be open about "shopping around" between agencies? Should I maintain a good amount of contact with them to make sure they're actively helping me, or would that just come off as irritating? What are the chances of an unqualified college student like myself finding work through them? Are there any agencies that anyone can particularily recommend?

You need to keep calling/emailing the contacts you have in the agencies every few days or so. They will have lots of people looking for work and this will help keep you in mind.

They probably will start you out on a simple assignment to let you gain experience and so that they can also see what you're capable of.

I've been temping since November last year for La Creme in Cork, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've had a huge variety of jobs, met loads of people, and have gained tonnes of people skills.
