I'm going to college in the States for the next year, and am planning on buying a laptop either before I go or upon arrival. Wont be using intensively, DVD's, some games (nothing too heavy, looking for HL2 low/med-spec etc), but I also want to have something that will last a long time. Been scouting around the net, came up with this from Dell for €1200. Thats about the upper end of my price range. Posting here to ask if anyone has bought from America before and might have any better ideas, or if ye think I'm being fleeced.

    - Core Duo processor T2400 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)

    - 1024MB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz, 2 Dimm

    - 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 HyperMemory
