    Hey all,

Found a decent supplier of sky digital stuff and look like they can deliver to ireland and are cheaper than the others i've looked at so far.

If anyones interested, they are SatOne.tv on http://www.satone.tv (not used them personally so can't vouch but am thinking about it, need a freeview card, already have the box and dish!)

    Cheers,

    Nick

PS - I'm a current member on this forum, but have had to change names and reset my settings to keep the storkers away, spamming me all the time arghh!

Cant see any cheap deals in there.

You get a freeview card for nothing from sky (if you know someone in the uk)

You could get one from ebay for less than that too.

Other than that, the packages are £100 per year more expensive than sky.

    I wouldn't touch them myself.

Thats fair enough but i don't know anyone in the UK so its my only route. Had a look at some other companies and they were alot more expensive, thats why i posted the thread.

Didn't realise i could get a subscription from them, cool, i'm ok with the year charge if i get all the channels.

May give them a go :D

I can't see what you get for the £100 annual fee to them, plus paying your standard Sky monthly rate. This is just silly.

The freeview card for £28 isn't too bad though if you don't want to use ebay or don't know someone in the UK. These cost £20 but Sky only deliver to UK addresses. They can also be found on ebay costing anything from a few pounds to about £20.

After reading the FAQ I think that £100 annual fee is for tech support. Don't Sky provide free support though, aswell as a free dish and digibox to new subscribers. There's no need to buy them from anyone else. Most of the testimonials seem to be from people buying the freeview cards too.

Yeah, I've seen these on another site for about £60 so £28 isn't too bad.

But you'll still pay the full subscription price to Sky, the extra fee is for nothing basically. You'll still have to agree to a 12 month contract with Sky, even if you have your own equipment.

hi jor el, i can see what you mean, but i didn't think sky was available here? isn't it UK only? if so, how would i get it?

may just get a freesat card for now until i'm clear (?) on the sky subscriptions.

Sky have always been available in Ireland. 0818 719852, see here for some more details. Free dish, free installation, pick n mix your packages to cut out the crap you don't want. I sound like I work for Sky but I don't.

geez, showing what a novice i am on all of this now! thanks for that. just got to decide whether to get a full subscription or just a freesat card.

i guess i will have to get the freesat card from satOne but like you say, its a not bad price.

Just bear in mind that an Irish subscription will NOT include Channel 4, or five. ITV, BBC Three, etc. not listed on EPG either, but can be viewed. Just needs to be added to Other Channels in a sub-menu.
