Ok, so 4 of us are thinking of going to see hard candy. Two of us are 16 and will pass for 18, so thats grand. But the other two are 14 and might not pass for 18. What are the chances of getting into the movie. I know the fellas that take the tickets and that. I was thinking of just going up and buying the tickets and give them to them, would that work. It has worked in the past when getting into over 16's films.

What cinema are you going to? Cineworld?

If you know the person selling you the tickets, you might get through, but they always require all the people to be present when buying the tickets so you can't just buy five tickets on your own.

Just do what I did, use a parent's credit card to buy online.

if questions are asked then say you are the guardian of the others, and that you have no problem with them seeing the film

    It's 18s. That doesn't work for 18s.

Really? Was it for a 16s or 18s film? If so, then that's very strange. Bad seller I guess (good for you though ;).

It was a 16's film. The guy that sold me the tickets was the manager:D .

Just as I thought! Managers are always shady! :D

Anyway, if you wanna be sure of success and not being resigned to see RV instead of trotting home then I suggest you get the use of a credit card.

Just to sond a bit parental for a second but it's an 18's movie, 14 year olds shouldn't be going to see it,.

Vue dont require all the people to be present when buying tickets, or at least they didn't yesterday when we went to see the Omen (heh, we try to get our mate who dropped out of college in for student price). Try Vue.
Other than that fact, though, I don't think Vue has too much to reccomend itself as a cinema!

And if I'm on duty, I'll you to f**k off. Its an 18's film, not an 18A's film.

    =-=

Omen is 15A. So if you bring someone over 18, you can get in.

You'd be surprised @ the amount of tards that say "but we always pay [child price]". And then we tell them to f**k off.

    =-=

Oh, and if we don't think you're 18, we have the right to refuse to sell you your ticket, or refuse you from getting by the dropbox. I'm off tomorrow, so you may get by :( Hopefully not, though:p

So, if we think you look under 18, no entry. And no, we don't care if you have a ticket. We can still stop you :D

There were a couple of guys being hassled for ID last night when I went to this. It was great to see it being 18's because things rarely are anymore (maybe it's just me!) What I mean by that is, the certs seem very leanient these days (for example, both Land of the Dead and Final Destination 3 were 15a!) so I knew Hard Candy had to be pretty...well...hard!

Ok, so last night we went to the cinema. I had already booked my three tickets over the phone. I went up to collect them. The manager asked us for some I.D. and he knew well we were not over 18. So we decided to change and see Lake House. That was grand, we bought the tickets and went and gave to them to the fella collecting them. We walked towards the screens, and guess what............ there was nobody at the door of hard candy, so we went in to see it;) . It started 20 mins later than the Lake House and finishe later. When we were going back out that manager gave us a good stare. He knew well that we got in:) . I see no reason why it should be an 18's movie. That was the worst movie I have seen in a long time.

jesus, is the perk of knowing someone who works in a cinema not free tickets in the first place?

I know that cineworld reserves the right to check the ticket and ask for ID at any point when you're on the premises anyhow. and iirc box office staff arent supposed to sell tickets unless all are present, for something like an 18's film.
