    Home game. Three remain.
Winner gets 100. Second gets 25. Third gets zip.

    Button over 800
    SB 280
    BB 125

    Blinds 20/10

    Button folds.
SB min raises into tight bb (now 40 to play) with qd3d
    BB pushes.

    Consider Chart Attached

He is tight but likes suited connectors in this situation.

    What does SB do?

fold...he'll be left with 135 you'll have 240 his sb next hand and he'll push again
into the big stacks BB (probably ;)) Q3d is not a hand I'd blow half me stack over

    I agree...uhm...too late? :o

BTW, how to read that image? Take one hole card for X and the other for Y? Because then how come AK has 67% and KA has 65%

If you are prepared to call an all-in with a hand in this situation then push. If you are not prepared then smooth call or fold. Min raising sucks.

Read chart suited across. Non-suited down.

If min-raises has been stealing this guys blinds in the past then it's fine, and you can now fold easily...

If you've never seen him folding his BB to a min-raise then don't do it. Either flat call or push. Although I'd like to see a flop here to be honset and I actually like to have reverse position at times like this, so I'd flat call, (folding to a push) and see what the flop brings.

But TBH, the way to play this hand would be very much based on how the game had been going and developing and the history with the two of you. You'd really need about the previous 10 hands to make an accurate assessment, at this stage your cards don't matter that much, you're just playing the opponent. [EDIT: I know Villain only has 6 BB's but it's a home game and who knows what had been going on]

    Hmmmm. Pot = 40 + 40 + 85 = 165 and it's 85 to call, therefore we're getting about 2:1 on our money, I didn't even think about the maths before but I actually think I'd call here.

Hold on. Wouldn't you do those maths before you decide to steal the blind? Meaning; you know BB is tight and usually folds to a min-raise, therefore you may try to steal but if he pushes he has (much) better than your Q3o and you are probably donating. Knowing both are good players, with knowledge of these odds etc, BB should know hero will call because of odds and therefore would only do this when he "has it".

All that table-image gone to waste... <sigh>

True, true, I did originally say that I personally would flat call and see a flop, but as played if he has been folding to a min-raise then you can *possibly* try and steal with this bet if you want, (I didn't get the part where it said they were good players who understand odds, tournament strategy etc. etc., this is a, what looks like a small buy-in, home game I wouldn't take this to mean good players generally, no offence Wombat)

The info we have here is that: the Villain has been folding to min-raises in the past and his pushing range would include suited connectors, therefore you could try and steal his blind with this crappy raise, and call an All-In at the same time, unless he has AA, KK or QQ, or Q(3+) we're getting good odds to call, e.g. Q3s v JJ is about 68:32 or 2.1:1, not great, but just about right....

I'd also add in here that the Shorties Pushing range is alot wider than his Calling range, and so IMO there's more chance his range against our holding would give us at least 40% equity in the pot.

Anyone have PokerStove to work out a proper range here, (don't have it in work).

But again as I also said previously, you'd need loads more info to make any meaningful assessment here, we just don't know what the table dynamics had developed into at this stage.

EDIT: Fcuk it, just don't min-raise a shorty with 6 BB's,   :D

I wasn't actually referring to you at all here Wombat, you are reading and posting hands on here, therefore you could be excellent for all I know, I was more referring to the other players at the table.... and the general player of a cheap home game...
