Does anyone know why were the charges dropped?

    Is someone taking the pi$$?

Charges against 32 men who took part in a demonstration at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin have been withdrawn by direction of the DPP.

The Afghan men were engaged in a hunger strike.

Two of the men due to appear in court today failed to appear, and the bench warrant for their arrest has been issued by Judge James Scally.

    Guesses are not answers.
"Protest is a right in any democratic country all over the world. Ireland is a free and democratic country."

Are they entitled to protest as they have done?

Nope, they forceable occupied a building against the wishes of the owners. They refused access to anyone that attempted to gain entry.

Furthermore, they could have been charged under the Terrorism Act 2005 which for some of them would have been long overdue.
